Primary Group

Primary group is an introduction to a group learning environment for children who are currently working successfully at kindergarten to grade 1 level. The goal of this group is to efficiently help children begin to build their independence in group setting while working on increasing group and classroom routine and social skills. Evidence- based ABA strategies will be utilized to further support children to prosper and flourish in school settings. Individual goals will be selected based on assessment results to further set children up for success.

Junior Group

Junior group is for children who are currently working successfully at a grade 2-4 level with a focus of increasing independent learning in a group setting. Evidence based ABA strategies are utilized to provide children with effective treatment to teach independence in following group and classroom routines. This group is highly beneficial for children as it also targets advanced social skills. This group structure is ideal as GAIN supports children to strive for success.

Activities for Junior Group include creative theme lessons, group discussions and activities, independent work and a social skills lesson. These group sessions are 3 hours in length and include three therapists with 5-6 children. This group is presented in a classroom environment with one lead teacher and other therapists assisting those children who may need more support. This group is beneficial as maximizes opportunities to encourage children to work collaboratively and engage with others.

Intermediate Group

Intermediate group is our most advance elementary school age group aimed at children who are currently working successfully at a grade 5-8 level. Evidence based ABA strategies are utilized to teach and maximize independence and self- regulation skills, as well as targeting social skills. Individual goals will be prioritized and selected based on assessment results in order to fulfill meeting client-based needs.

Activities for Intermediate Group include theme lessons, group discussions, independent work and a social skill lesson. These group sessions are 3 hours in length and include three therapists with 5-6 children. This group is presented in a classroom environment with one lead teacher and other therapists assisting those children who many need more support. At GAIN we further encourage and support peer interactions to prepare children to further succeed in school environments.
